Vini Jackson (bass, percussion), and Fuzzknobs’ Peter Sibley (guitars and machines) comprise the peculiarly fractitious (fractious? fictitious? make up your minds. Ed.) Künstfabriken, a young(-ish) duo, presently located in Greater Morrowvale, Aurora Nova. With a focus on the more experimental aspects of German Kosmische musik and basically ‘neo-krautrock’, they have treated Kunstfabriken as an off-shoot of their time spent doing audio research by day (The Pipeline Studios, Green Park, Morrowvale) and weekends DJ-ing (NIGHTball).

Also as 2/3 of Rhythm Factory, they prefer the live aspects of performance to being locked away in a studio, which makes ‘MOTORIKA’ their latest single all the more peculiar as a pandemic-style, socially distanced video takes the place of the usual mucking about in each others’ faces while showing off and soloing on their instruments ‘a little bit too loudly’ and with ‘excessive and unnecessary bravado’ (NIGHTout Morrowvale Edition).

The duo’s ongoing commission for a musical site installation – within Rhythm Factory’s contract for the 2020 NIGHTlinkRail Extension Musical Object Series – is still in heavy debate while lockdown continues for that part of the world – stay tuned while we keep you posted on the latest events…
